Short Ribs & Mash Potatoes


Ingredients


  • 3 pounds beef short rib (about 6 serving-sized pieces)

  • 1 packet Lipton onion mix

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves or 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or almond flour

  • 1 Jar Beef Gravy

  • 1 cup beef broth or Campbell’s onion soup

  • 1 bottle (12 fluid ounces) dark ale or beer (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)

  • fresh rosemary


Instructions

  • Time-Saving: Recipe may be cooked on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 head of garlic

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 pounds potatoes, preferably Yukon Gold or another yellow, waxy potato

  • Salt

  • 1/3 cup cream

  • 3 Tbsp butter

  • 1/2Sour Cream

  • salt ,pepper


INSTRUCTIONS Place the potatoes and garlic into a large stockpot, covered with water by about two inches.

  1. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20-25 minutes or until fork tender.

  2. Drain the water very well, then add in the butter, milk, salt and pepper.

  3. Mash well with a potato masher until creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
